Motorcycle Hire Cost

The prices for motorcycle hire are listed on each page of Guide My Ride's individual Alps motorcycle tours. Hiring a motorcycle costs between 79€ and 169€ per day.

Our motorcycle hire prices for all our French and Italian tours vary depending on the motorcycle you select. A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your preferred motorcycle.

You can add the motorcycle hire option to any custom motorcycle tour you choose.

To hire a motorcycle in France, you'll need to have these documents ready for the motorcycle rental company at the beginning of your holiday.

Essential Documents for Motorcycle Hire in France

Please make sure that the following documents are original copies.

  • A valid category A driving license.

  • International driving permit if applicable (specifically for motorcycles, category A).

  • Passport.

  • Proof of home address (utilities bill).

Requirements for Motorcycle Hire in France

  • Drivers must be between 25 and 75 years old.

  • Pillion passengers must be over 12 years old.

  • The driver must be medically fit to ride a motorcycle.

The driver may be required to provide proof of 2 years of motorcycle riding experience.

The motorcycle rental price includes insurance for personal injury and material damage in accordance with regulations. Additionally, the following coverage is provided:

  • Driver equipment guarantee (up to 1000 €, helmet included)

  • Windshield cover in the instance of forces of nature

  • Natural disaster and terrorist attack cover

  • Damage guarantee for all accidents

  • Driver Protection: maximum amount of 80,000 €, death benefit of 7700 €, permanent disability maximum amount of 80, 000 €.

Motorcycle insurance is arranged at the time of hire by our partner in France.

InsureandGo Travel Insurance offers policies for motorcyclists that cover serious injury, permanent disability, and medical repatriation in the event of an accident abroad. When declared, motorcycle use can be included to ensure coverage for emergency medical treatment and transport home. Riders should verify engine size limits and policy details for full coverage.

Voyager Insurance

Voyager Insurance offers travel insurance tailored for motorcyclists, including enhanced medical coverage for bodily injury, long-term disability, and emergency repatriation after accidents. Their policies suit adventurous travellers and touring riders. It’s crucial to declare your riding activities in advance and check for restrictions on bike size, terrain, or off-road use.
